Mario is a bachelor on the dating game show Paths of Love. When Shawn and Gus go undercover to find out who put Todd Kramer in a coma, he is their first prime suspect. This is due to how hot-headed he suddenly becomes when Brody makes a move for bachelorette Melinda, and how he stares directly at Shawn while saying he'd kill anyone who is there for the wrong reasons. He also says about Melinda that he "might love her. Or something." Shawn and Gus search the dorm room to find evidence to prove Mario guilty, but instead they find a picture he brought of a girl on a motorcycle.
At the next Heart Ceremony, where Melinda chooses whom she wants to keep in the competition, it comes down to Mario and Danny for the last heart. Right before Melinda chooses Mario, Shawn yells out that he has a girlfriend to ensure they can keep an eye on Danny, who has by then become their second suspect. Mario freaks out and exclaims, "Bros before hoes!" before attacking Shawn and Gus. Melinda then hesitantly chooses Danny and Mario smashes a vase over his own head.
Mario then appears on the Reunion Show, sitting next to Gus and Shawn.
