Izzy Jackson is, in 2011, the Santa Barbara Seabirds stand-out performer, possibly a franchise but not exactly a team player. He is portrayed by Ken Luckey.
Dead Man's Curve BallEdit
In "Dead Man's Curve Ball", Izzy appears as the Santa Barbara Seabirds' star player. Unfortunately, he has an ego to more than match his talent, and believes entirely in the double standard, as long as he is the beneficiary. The head coach Mel Hornsby has essentially assigned veteran Cal Eason to keep their star out of trouble, something of a conflict of interests since Cal and his knees are tired of catching, and want to move over to Izzy's position on second base. When our intrepid duo are hired to investigate the death of coach Grady, Shawn and Gus find themselves looking very closely at the whizkid. His water bottle was dosed with amphetamines, but he tested clean, and Shawn later uncovers a $10 million dollar bonus clause in his contract, but not, sadly, in time to save the player, who is bludgeoned to death in the locker room with a size 35 bat. Time will show that it was Neil Stillman, desperate not to make the payout, who tried to cause Izzy to fail a drug test, and accidentally killed the weak-hearted coach instead. Neil then took more direct action, and is on the point of shooting the Psych team when endless interruptions force him to flee - straight into Henry's path, who takes him down with an extremely impressive block.
- "Listen, Shawn, don't take this the wrong way but I'm on a bit of a hot streak of late. I don't want you coming in, messing with my swing. Because I have a tendency to over-think things."
