Shabby the Sea Lion was a sea lion who was practically worshiped by (some of) the citizens of Santa Barbara. His death was the basis for the episode "Six Feet Under the Sea".

- Given the less-than-positive connotations of 'shabby', it seems reasonable to presume the name was primarily chosen to evoke Shamu, the orca attraction at SeaWorld (which is itself being phased out).
