William "Bill" Peterson is the owner of a successful car dealership. He is portrayed by Dan Lauria.

Poker? I Barely Know Her[]
In "Poker? I Barely Know Her", Bill is shown to be a old friend of Henry's; they met about 20 years ago, when Bill caught a couple of thieves stealing tires from his lot - Peterson's Motors, a local car dealership.
Bill has a son, Brandon, and the father-son dynamic is even less warm and nurturing than that of the Spencers. Bill has, in his opinion, given Brandon every chance to straighten up and fly right, and his good-for-nothing offspring has simply taken advantage of his generosity.
There are clear parallels in the father-son dynamics between the Petersons and the Spencers.
