Corbin Dean Bernsen is an American actor best known for his roles as Arnold Becker on L.A. Law and Henry Spencer on Psych. He has also directed a fair share of projects, as well as acting. He has also had regular roles on such shows as General Hospital and Cuts.
Biography[]
Bernsen was born on September 7, 1954, in North Hollywood, California to father Harry Bernsen Jr and mother Jeanne Cooper, who is a veteran soap opera actress who appears on the show The Young and the Restless. Bernsen graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1972. Also, Bernsen is a "double Bruin", achieving both a BA in Theater Arts and an MFA in Playwriting from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
After appearing for two years on the soap opera Ryan's Hope, Bernsen was cast in his breakthrough role as lawyer Arnold Becker on the hit show L.A. Law in 1986. Bernsen's role on the show earned him many Emmy and Golden Globe nominations, as well as guest appearances on shows such as Seinfeld and Saturday Night Live. Bernsen was one of only a couple actors who stayed on L.A. Law through the entire tenure of the show.
Bernsen appeared in starring roles such in films such as Dr. Alan Feinstone in horror film The Dentist, Roger Dorn in comedy film Major League, and had a recurring role as John Durant on General Hospital for two years before the character was murdered. In 2006, Bernsen took the role of Henry Spencer on USA Network comedy Psych, where he plays main character Shawn Spencer's retired cop father. In the season six finale, Santabarbaratown Henry Spencer's fate was left unknown after he was shot.
Bernsen has been married to British actress Amanda Pays since 1988, with whom he has 4 children. Bernsen has one of the largest snow globe collections in the entire world, with almost 7,000 snow globes.
According to USA Network's "Psych All-Night" event, Corbin's favorite episode is "Mr. Yin Presents...."
